An afternoon with Christine Cohen

Park: In my Father’s House

Lewes Library

Saturday 31 October 2pm - 3pm

Lewes writer Christine Cohen Park will be reading from her

memoir to help us celebrate Family History Month.

When Christine was ten, in 1953, she was sent from South Africa to Brighton to

spend eight unforgettable months with her father, Lewis Cohen, whom she barely

knew. A flamboyant businessman, passionate socialist and politician, he became

Brighton’s first Jewish socialist Mayor and later a Labour life peer.
